The first volume of a scrapbook collection complied by Celia (Janie) Jane Philips (nee Ceclia Jane Wood), the wife of Alfred Philips. Alfred Philips was the first President of Tulsa Junior College. The scrapbook is composed of newspaper clippings, handwritten notes, typed letters, invitations, programs, and newsletters.

This particular scrapbook spans from approximately 1969-1971 and includes topics such as the hiring of Alfred Philips via the Report and Recommendation of the Screening Committee for the Selection of a President of Tulsa Junior College, the funding and beginning policies of Tulsa Junior College, deciding between a rented or permanent building for TJC, coverage over whether TJC will have satellite campuses, junior college districts in the state of Oklahoma, scholarships, and some of the first ads and pamphlets for TJC.
